What Naka keeps, and what it sends
Beta privacy notice · Last updated 14 October 2026
Naka AI Browser has no accounts and no ads. This page lists everything the app sends off your phone, who receives it and how long it is kept.
What stays on your phone
- Your browsing: history, bookmarks, tabs, saved skills, price watches and "My details for forms" are stored only on your phone. Private tabs keep nothing after they close.
- Naka Shields: ad and tracker blocking, the malware and adult-site lists and cookie-banner handling all run on your phone. Nothing about the sites you visit is sent for them.
- The on-device assistant (Apple Intelligence): your requests, the page and the answers stay on your phone. Skills that run by themselves on sites you choose use only the on-device model.
What leaves your phone
| What | When | Who gets it | Kept |
|---|---|---|---|
| Usage statistics | Always. They say which features are used ("a tab opened", "Summarize used") as numbers, yes/no and our own labels. Never addresses, sites, searches, page text or anything you type. Each carries a random install ID, the app and iOS version and the device model. | Naka, stored in Google Cloud (BigQuery) | No set expiry |
| Cloud model requests | Only when you choose the cloud model (Groq) in Naka's model menu, or accept the one-time offer on a phone without Apple Intelligence. They contain your question, the open page's address, title and text, the steps taken and the answer. | Groq, to answer. Naka keeps a copy, with an automatic quality score, to improve answers. | 30 days |
| Reports | Only when you send one ("Report to Naka"), after a screen that lists what is sent: the request, answer and steps, the page's address and your note. A full copy of the page only if you tap "Send with the page". Never from private tabs. | Naka | 30 days |
| Search suggestions | While you type in the address bar, if "Search engine suggestions" is on (it is by default; never in private tabs). | Your search engine (DuckDuckGo, Google or Bing), directly | Their policy |
| Pages you open | When you browse, as in any browser. | The websites themselves | Their policy |
| App check | On the first cloud request, then about every 15 minutes, to prove the request comes from the real app. | Apple (App Attest) and Naka | Not kept |
Never sent by Naka: passwords, payment details, cookies, contacts, location or photos.
Who processes data for us
- Groq runs the cloud model. It receives cloud model requests only.
- Google Cloud (BigQuery) stores usage statistics.
- Naka's own server runs the gateway to the cloud model and keeps cloud requests, their scores and reports for 30 days.
- Anthropic (Claude) powers Naka's internal product assistant, which reads usage counts, cloud requests and reports to suggest improvements. It never reads page copies and never receives anything from your phone directly.
- Apple provides App Attest. Crash reports and TestFlight feedback follow your Apple settings.
Tracking
Naka does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, has no advertising SDKs, and does not sell data. The install ID is random and isn't tied to your name, email or Apple ID.
Your choices
- Keep the default on-device model and nothing you ask is sent.
- Turn off search suggestions in Settings.
- Use private tabs to keep no history.
- Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your phone. Copies kept on our server are deleted after 30 days.
This notice covers the TestFlight beta. If what the app sends changes, this page changes with it. Questions: see Support.
